Campus Visitor ID's

Official visitors to the University campus whose stay is for an extended but defined period of time, generally one month to one year, and for a specific academic or administrative purpose, similar to work being performed by regular UGA faculty or staff, will be eligible for a sponsored Visitor ID Card.  The sponsoring department must submit a Campus Visitor Request form , approved by the appropriate Dean or Vice President, to the UGACard Office at least 5 working days in advance of issuing the card. Included in this category are visiting faculty, visiting staff, and/or others who are employed full-time outside the University and are visiting to perform similar work for the University without compensation from the UGA Payroll Department.

Excluded in this category would be students, conference participants, vendors, service and construction contractors and their employees, entertainers, law enforcement agencies, state and federal employees.

CAMPUS VISITOR DEPENDENT ID's

Under certain circumstances, dependents of visitors and individuals with special affiliation with the University may also be eligible for a dependent UGACard. A dependent UGACard is issued to spouses and dependent children (under the age of twenty six) of a campus visitor. A UGA Dependent Request Form must be submitted to the UGACard Office five working days prior to having the ID card made. Request forms are available upon request from the UGACard Office as well as online. The University offers restricted privileges for visitor dependents with the UGACard.

Campus visitors may use the online form to apply for a for their dependents. This form, however, must be completed by the campus visitor and not the dependent.

Remember:

  • Wait five working days, then go to the UGACard Office, to have ID's made. The UGACard costs $20.00. Acceptable methods of payment are cash, check and credit card.
  • Employees need not accompany family members if his/her employment status is in the database and all paperwork has been properly completed and received in the UGACard Office.
