What is the Student UGACard?
The UGACard is your key to accessing dorms, dining halls, and many other facilities and services throughout campus.  Students must be registered for the current semester in order to purchase and use the UGACard.  The UGACard is non-transferrable and can only be used by the student to whom it is issued.  Misuse of the UGACard may result in disciplinary action by University Judiciary.

How do I purchase and use Student Tickets?
UGA students who have paid the appropriate student fees are entitled to purchase one student discounted ticket to on-campus athletic events or Tate Student Center programs and events.  You must present your UGACard at the box office when purchasing a student ticket.  No other forms of ID or license are accepted.

The UGACard is your ticket for student athletic events.  The UGA Athletic Association provides electronic ticketing using an online and real-time system.

For more details on student tickets, please visit the Tate Student Center website (tate.uga.edu) or the Athletic Association website (www.georgiadogs.com).

What is my UGA ID Number?
Your UGACard will have your 16-digit identification number placed in three locations: printed on the back of the card, encoded onto the magnetic stripe, and encoded into the barcode on the back.

UGACard front and back
The first 6 digits (627541) identify you as being affiliated with UGA.  The next set of nine digits is your personal ID number (which replaces your social security number).  The last digit is your issue level, which represents the number of replacement cards that you have been issued.  Your first card is always a zero.

Some services on campus allow you to type in your ten-digit ID number instead of swiping your UGACard.  You must type in your ten-digit number (beginning with 810 and ending with your current issue level.

For more information about the UGA ID number, see https://infosec.uga.edu/sate/ugaid.php.

Biometric Hand Scanning

After the UGACard Office produces your card the staff will scan your hand image to create access security for your card. This feature will prohibit another person from using your card to access University services.
